AT&T Broadband Internet offerings come in three packages – Basic DSL, Pro DSL and Elite DSL. These differ in terms of pricing and speed. Basic DSL offers a downstream speed of up to 768 Kbps and an upstream speed of up to 384 kbps. Pro DSL provides up to 3.0 Mbps downstream and 512 Kbps downstream while Elite DSL offers up to 6 Kbps Downstream and 768 Kbps upstream. All of these packages have basically the same features. The packages all provide 1 IP address. This is usually a dynamic IP address but you can also opt for a static IP address for more protection and online gaming. There are unarguably more broadband providers that can give you greater speeds, but when it comes to prices, AT&T is giving a good offer. That is, more bang for your buck – most ISPs also provide the same speeds but at higher rates and the basic package is still 15 times faster than dial-up internet. One other advantage versus dial-up internet is that you get to free up your phone lines while staying connected to the internet.
AT&T’s packages provide more convenience for the user when it comes to transition from your old internet service. You can also enjoy unlimited dial-up Internet access nationwide, and unlimited online storage at Flickr Pro. It also comes with computer software that provide parental controls, block pop-ups, and protect your computer from unauthorized access (firewall) and unwanted email (SpamGuard). You can also enjoy unlimited storage with AT&T Yahoo! Mail for up to 10 Mail accounts. The AT&T Yahoo! Messenger also lets you enjoy high quality content such as music, videos and other educational information.
